PDR KONGRE 2023 - Empathy Award

The Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association is a non-governmental organization that contributes to the development of the profession throughout Turkey with its 13,000 principal and 10,000 honorary (student) members and 80 Provincial Representatives. As the Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association, we have been determining the "Empathy Award of the Year" since 2009 with your contribution. We will present the award to the 2023 Empathy Award Winner at our 24th International Psychological Counseling and Guidance Congress, which will be hosted by Ankara University on 17-18-19 November 2023.

With the empathy award, we aim to contribute to the process of understanding one another by individuals and institutions by bringing empathy, one of the basic concepts of the psychological counseling profession, into social life. In this way, we intend to reward and encourage being able to put ourselves in the other person's shoes and to look at each other's feelings, thoughts and behaviors from the other side of the table. 

There are always people and institutions that demonstrate the empathy skill that we need more and more each time, in their work. We aim to make people and institutions that increase social sensitivity with an empathetic approach more visible by awarding them with the 2023 Empathy Award. For this purpose, we expect your contribution and participation in determining the winner of the 2023 Empathy Award. 

Who Can Nominate and Who Can Be Nominated for the Empathy Award?
 

• Members of our association, real persons, non-governmental organizations, institutions and organizations with legal personality can nominate candidates for the Empathy Award.
• Members of our Association's Board and Empathy Evaluation Board cannot nominate or be nominated for the Empathy award.
• Except for  other real and legal persons providing services and training in the field of Psychological Counseling and Mental Health, real persons, non-governmental organizations, public and private institutions and organizations with legal personality can be nominated.
• Candidates can be nominated by filling out the nomination proposal form on the pdrkongre2023.pdr.org.tr website. 

What will the 2023 Empathy Award process be like?
 

• The nomination process will take place from 11 April to 1 September 2023. This process can be completed by sending an e-mail  to [email protected], after filling out the “2023 Empathy Award Nomination Form” on the congress website (https://pdrkongre2023.pdr.org.tr).
• The candidate who is deemed worthy of the empathy award by the Empathy Evaluation Board will be presented with an award at the opening ceremony of the 24th International Psychological Counseling and Guidance Congress to be held on November 17, 2023.
